Most blackjack apps deal you cards. This one tells you what the right play is, why it is the right play, and then grades how often you actually made it.

A dealer who shows their work
Blackjack is one of the few casino games where the correct play is knowable. The hard part is learning it without losing money finding out. That is the entire job of this app.
- Basic strategy, in a sentence you can remember. Every decision comes with the call and the reasoning behind it — "Stand on 17. Your total is strong enough — drawing risks a bust." Not a chart to memorise; an explanation you keep.
- Hi-Lo counting with a live read-out. Running count and true count sit at the top of the table, with a plain-language verdict — neutral, positive — so you can see what the count is telling you while the shoe is still going.
- A rules placard that does the maths for you. Six decks, dealer stands on soft 17, double after split, late surrender, blackjack pays 3:2 — the placard explains what each of those costs or saves you, including why a table paying 6:5 is one you walk away from.
- Four difficulty tiers, and you can climb them. Training gives you auto-advice and the count. Student keeps advice on demand. Independent takes the advice away and leaves the count so you can practise tracking it. Expert takes both — pure blackjack, on your own.
- Real-table etiquette, not just card play. The app teaches the hand signals and the procedure — how to set your chips when you double, why piling them on top of your original bet reads as cheating to the overhead cameras, and what the dealer expects you to do with your hands.
- Named players who react to you. You are not alone at the table. The other seats are played by characters who respond to how you play, which is closer to the pressure of a real table than an empty felt is.
- Definitions with "when it matters." Hit, stand, double down, split, surrender — each one defined, then followed by the situation where the choice actually changes the outcome. Plus the At the Table and Reading the Table lessons.
- A stats screen that grades the decision, not the result. The headline number is strategy accuracy — how often you made the correct play — because that is the part you control. The app is honest that even perfect basic strategy wins under half of all hands, which is exactly why win rate is the wrong scoreboard.
- A "Ready for a real table?" checklist. Basic strategy locked in, table procedure learned — concrete criteria, so the answer to "am I ready" is something you can check rather than guess.

Frequently asked
Can I win real money?
No. Blackjack Tutor is a practice game. The chips are not worth anything, there is no cash-out, and there is no way to deposit. It exists to teach you the game, not to take a stake.
Why is my win rate under 50% when the app says my play was perfect?
Because that is what blackjack is. Correct basic strategy wins fewer than half of all hands — it narrows the house edge, it does not erase it. That is why the stats screen leads with strategy accuracy: the decision is the part you control, and the result is not.
Does it teach card counting?
Yes — Hi-Lo, with the running count and the true count shown live while you play, and a plain-language read on what the count means right now. The Independent tier hides the advice but keeps the count so you can practise tracking it yourself, and Expert hides both.
Are there in-app purchases or ads?
Neither. You buy it once. There are no chip packs, no hint bundles, no subscriptions, no advertising, and nothing that runs out and asks you for more.
Where is my progress saved?
On your device only. The app makes no network calls, so saves and stats live in local storage on the phone and are never uploaded. Deleting the app deletes them, and there is no way for us to restore them.
Why is it rated 18+?
Apple rates any app depicting simulated gambling 18+, even when there is no real money involved anywhere. Blackjack Tutor simulates a casino table, so it carries that rating.
